The Burnaby Mountain Gondola would provide a fast, frequent, and reliable service between the SkyTrain and Burnaby Mountain. With a final route selected and project support from the City of Burnaby and TransLink’s Mayors’ Council, the project advanced to the business case stage. A business case defines a regional transportation problem (or opportunity) and evaluates the benefits, costs, impacts and risks of the initiative. Once the Burnaby Mountain Gondola Business Case is complete, the Burnaby Mountain Gondola’s Business Case will be taken to the Mayor’s Council for their decision and direction about whether the project will become a funded project. As part of the business case, TransLink is required to go to public engagement to seek the public’s input on the project.
