New Seasonal Service to Parks and Beaches
TransLink is proposing four new seasonal bus routes to popular regional outdoor destinations, made possible through the 2025 Investment Plan. The new routes are designed to make nature more accessible with direct, seasonal transit connections, while reducing congestion and parking pressures and ensuring more equitable access to the Metro Vancouver’s outdoor spaces. Delivering better access to nature is a part of TransLink’s 10-year Access for Everyone plan, and three of these destinations are not directly accessible by transit.
These proposed new routes and service improvements are to regionally significant parks and beaches that were identified in the 2025 Investment Plan to improve transportation options across the region. The new or improved routes that are the subject of this engagement would provide weekend and holiday service during the summer to:
- Belcarra Regional Park
- Campbell Valley Regional Park
- Centennial Beach (Boundary Bay Regional Park)
- Golden Ears Provincial Park
These proposed new bus routes and improved services are currently in the planning phase. Keep your eyes open for additional information coming next year.
The new service aims to:
- Improve transit access for the public to popular regional parks and beaches.
- Provide a convenient and reliable transportation option for leisure and recreation, supporting TransLink’s goal of improving access to nature.
